Goldwind adds new US orders

UNITED STATES: Goldwind has signed turbine supply deals in the United States with Enel Green Power North America, Wind Energy Developers, and Debenham Energy.

Goldwind was unable to reveal the size of the deals but said it will take its total capacity in the Americas to over 200MW. Before that it had around 110MW with the bulk of this covered by the Shady Oaks project in Illinois.

The 13 projects are based in the states of California, Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Ohio and Rhode Island of the United States, and Ecuador and Chile in South America.

Matthew Olive, vice president of sales for Goldwind in the Americas said: "We have also worked with a diverse set of developers and utility companies from several regions of the continent, each understanding that with Goldwind, comes a suite of solutions for wind project development including common equity, mezzanine financing and term project finance, among other offerings."

To date, Goldwind has set up 10 branches in overseas areas, covering North America, South America, Australia, Europe and Africa.

In 2011, Goldwind commenced building its Shady Oaks project in Illinois of the United States, the Adama project in Ethiopia, Mortons Lane project in Australia, Villonaco project in Ecuador, and Pakistan project.
