INDIA: Suzlon has signed a contract with independent power producer CLP India to supply a 100MW wind farm in the state of Rajasthan.

Suzlon wins 100MW Rajasthan deal

The project will comprise 48 units of Suzlon’s S97-2.1MW turbines, featuring doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) technology, and is scheduled to be commissioned by January 2013.

Suzlon’s deal with CLP is valued at $122 million and was announced today at the same time as the turbine manufacturer revealed that it had now reached the milestone of securing over 1 GW of

orders for its S9X suite of low wind turbines.

The S9X suite, designed for sites with low wind speeds, features larger rotor diameters, increased hub heights and technology enhancements such as the DFIG technology.

Certified by leading testing and certification agency Germanischer Lloyd, S9X turbines are already operational in India, Australia and the US. Customers who have already placed major orders for S9X turbines include Mytrah Energy, CLP India, Orient Green Power, Coromandel Wind Energy and Sprott Energy.
